DoorStep Concept: "Youth Recovery Initiative"
The mission of the TRICO Corporation is to provide the highest
level of assessment and treatment skills in consultation and partnership
with other mental health, medical, and professional human services organizations.
Provide quality and continuous care for persons with rehabilitation, guidance,
and other specialized needs.
Provide services to all persons regardless of their ability to pay. 
Comprehensive Support for troubled children, youth and their families.
Doorstep provides an environment of safety, encouragement, learning, health and well-being for young people. We have built the steps to well-being and achievement that we hope will enable youths to recover their initiative to enthusiastically step up to the door of opportunity and enthusiastically open it.

Many times, parents, teachers and pastors, the "would
be mentors", should be mentors, even medical doctors overlook symptoms
of physical distress that might lead to a child's "unacceptable"
behaviors. Mild seizure activity within a child's brain might lead to
the 
appearances
of inattentiveness. Mild pervasive developmental problems, such as Asberger's
syndrome, might restrict the child's ability to socialize well with peers,
while achieving passing, average, or higher grades. Of course, the old
standby, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), has been the door
slammer for many young persons who did nothing worse than be born into
a genetic family line that passed on the ADHD gene.
The young person has lost the way to the door. And event when there is
a small glimpse of that door to hope and opportunity, it is now shut tightly
and locked; the very door youth for the earliest infant's cry. Hopelessness.
Worthlessness. Goals? The only goal becomes survival. Even that, event
the desire to live, survive, eludes the young person.

RAINBOW COMMUNITY
The Rainbow Community is a group of individuals who come together to organize
a business enterprise that will utilize and "recycle" items
that have brought joy and happiness to others. The Rainbow Community is
designed to provide us with a business operation that serves our friends
and neighbors and provides useful and enjoyable products. "Our Goal
is to give us a sense of achievement in our life".
Our goal is two-fold:

and happiness that these same items have provided others over the years.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP)
We
are a group of persons with disabilities in Southern Maryland who come
together for socialization and skill building; filling the gap of other
services located in the St. Mary's and Charles counties. Our PRP is a
proven resource for the mental development of persons with disabilities.
TRICO Corporation has rehabilitation staff to provide the instruction
tailored to meet each individual's needs. Some of the benefits and needs
being met in our PRP are:
- Confidence building
- Sociability
- Balance
- Coordination and mobility
- Improved self-esteem
- Participation in recreational activities
- Opportunity for successful achievement of personal goals
We believe in the wholeness of the individual and provide an environment
of encouragement, learning, safety, and well-being. The participants learn
to meet demands and deadlines, manage time, complete projects, learn basic
living skills and learn the concept of our daily living economy.
Stampin UP Party

Thanks to the help of Ms. Stacey Park of "Stampin Up", we had
our very own Stampin Up party and made Christmas cards.
