History, Overview, & Functions
TRICO Corporation was established on December 10, 1987, as a nonprofit,
charitable corporation designed to provide counseling, care, and prevention
services to residents of St. Mary's County (Southern Maryland) and throughout
Maryland.
TRICO Corporation is a 501(c)(3) Corporation
and a 509(a)(2) publicly funded Foundation.

Although treatment is an important function of the TRICO services, PREVENTION
of more serious mental health, substance abuse, and youth delinquency

motivational and recreational groups. Remedial services are also provided
for those who indicate a need or desire for such programs.
Emphasis is placed upon AVAILABILITY of services. We serve everybody

TRICO FOUNDATION/DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
Staff Development Committee
The TRICO Foundation/Development Division is the fundraising and
disbursement arm of the corporation. Our development division has been
and continues to be actively pursuing both private and public funds for
all our areas of service. The Foundation also disburses emergency funds
to those in need when funds are available. For more information go to
the TRICO Foundation page.
In 1996, the RAINBOW COMMUNITY SHOP became a subdivision of the
TRICO Foundation Division. This group consists of persons with disabilities
who have come to TRICO for activities and/or clinical services. During
this year, the individuals have named the group, established desired activities
and with consultation of TRICO staff, have established a business that
is managed and operated by these individuals. It is currently part time
(two days per week) although we look forward to expanding operations,
enabling more time for existing persons and the evolution of new personnel.
The TRICO RESIDENTIAL DIVISION is currently working closely with
the Development Division striving to raise funds for residential facilities
for youth and mature adults, abused spouses, and children. Initially for
group homes to house delinquent youths and adults with mental disabilities
and/or those with special needs. Then eventually, a residential facility
that can accommodate 20 youths and 20 mature adults with or without special
needs who desire or are in need of residential care.
We participate in many
health care plans . . .
including
Medical Assistance and Medicare. For those who are not part
of a participating health care plan or insurance program we
offer convenient payment plans that enable all who come to receive
our services.

We also offer a variety of contractual arrangements
to mental health services, individuals, businesses, all levels of government
agencies, and schools to allow for the most economical delivery of quality
care and treatment.
